What Agency Agents actually is
msitarzewski/agency-agents is a MIT-licensed catalog of 230+ Markdown specialist personas. Install a subset into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and other tools, or use the files as a prompt library.

Agency Agents (msitarzewski/agency-agents) is a catalog of Markdown specialist personas, not a new model. The README calls the collection 230+ specialized agents. The license is MIT.
Each file is closer to a job description than “you are a frontend expert.” The project lists identity and personality, a mission and workflow, deliverables, success metrics, and a communication style. You drop the file into a coding agent’s agent directory. The host model then runs that role.
The useful move is role split. One long session that plans, designs, implements, tests, and audits security tends to blur the job. A frontend file and a security file keep different goals in different contexts.
What is in the repo
The tree is split into divisions. On GitHub those directories include academic, design, engineering, finance, game-development, gis, healthcare, marketing, paid-media, product, project-management, sales, security, spatial-computing, strategy, support, testing, and specialized.
Engineering examples in the README: Frontend Developer (React, Vue, Angular), Backend Architect, Mobile App Builder, AI Engineer, DevOps Automator. Design has UI Designer and UX Researcher. The rest of the roster is marketing, sales, healthcare, and a long specialized list. You do not need the whole set.
How you install it
Claude Code can use the Markdown files as-is:
./scripts/install.sh --tool claude-code
# or one division:
cp engineering/*.md ~/.claude/agents/Then ask the session to use a named agent, for example the frontend developer, on a real component.
Other tools need a conversion pass. The README’s install path is ./scripts/convert.sh then ./scripts/install.sh. Direct --tool targets include Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, OpenClaw, Cursor, Aider, Windsurf, Kimi Code, Codex, Osaurus, Hermes, Antigravity, and Mistral Vibe (vibe).
Subset installs match the README:
./scripts/install.sh --tool claude-code --division engineering,security
./scripts/install.sh --tool cursor --agent frontend-developer,ui-designerCursor writes project rules under .cursor/rules/. OpenCode writes .opencode/agents/ in the current directory. OpenCode’s runtime currently registers only about 119 agents and drops the rest; the installer warns if a selection would go over that limit.
There is a native desktop app for macOS, Linux, and Windows at agencyagents.app. It browses the roster and installs into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Qwen, and Osaurus. On a Mac:
brew install --cask msitarzewski/agency-agents/agency-agentsThe app README says MIT, local-first, no telemetry. You can still use the files as a reference without installing anything.
These are prompts. Review a file before you give it a repo, and treat scripts/install.sh like any other shell you clone from the internet.
