What Meshy actually is
Meshy turns a text prompt or an image into a 3D mesh you can texture, remesh, rig, animate, print, or call from an API. Credits, not a one-click replacement for Blender.

Meshy is a browser AI 3D generator. You type a prompt or upload a picture. It returns a mesh you can texture, remesh, rig, animate, export, or send to a slicer. The homepage pitches games and 3D printing. The banner on August 22, 2026 still says Meshy 7 is live.
The company’s own counters on that page are 100 million+ generated models and 12 million+ users. Treat those as Meshy’s numbers, not an independent census.
Text and image to a mesh
Text to 3D takes a prompt of up to 800 characters. The feature page says a textured mesh in about a minute, 20 credits per generation. The UI there still names Meshy 5 and 6. Standard versus Smart Topology, plus A-pose / T-pose / custom, are the geometry knobs.
The API still splits some Text to 3D jobs: a Preview mesh, then a Refine texture pass at 10 credits for 2K/4K or 15 for 8K.
Image to 3D is the faster first try. PNG, JPG, or WebP, up to 20 MB. The current Image to 3D page names Meshy 7 as the latest model, with 6 and 5 still listed. One photo is enough for a symmetric or front-facing subject.
Multi-view is up to four photos of the same object, not eight. Batch is different: up to ten separate images become ten separate models.
Texture, remesh, rig, print
PBR maps on the homepage are albedo, normal, metallic, and roughness. HD Texture is sold as 4K. The API still bills 8K texture as a separate 15-credit (or +5) row. Both can be true: 4K is the web HD pitch, 8K is an API resolution.
Remesh and Smart Topology exist because a pretty mesh is not a game mesh. Auto-rigging covers humanoid and quadruped. The homepage animation library is 600+ presets, not 500.
Export, from the Text to 3D FAQ: FBX, OBJ, GLB, USDZ, STL, BLEND, 3MF. That same page also lists DXF in the “eight formats” line. Plugins exist for Blender and Unity; the feature copy also names Unreal, 3ds Max, Maya, and Godot.
Printability analysis on the API price list is free. Printability repair is 10 credits. The marketing line is watertight, manifold, and a 97% slicer pass rate. That is Meshy’s claim.
API, MCP, and the 3D Agent
The REST API covers text, image, multi-image, retexture, remesh, convert, resize, auto-rig, animation, and print jobs. Image to 3D on Meshy 6 and Meshy 7 is 20 credits without texture, 30 with texture, 35 with 8K. Meshy 7 Ultra mode adds 5. Auto-rigging is 5. Animation is 3.
The AI integration doc installs an MCP server (npx add-mcp @meshy-ai/meshy-mcp-server) for Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Codex, and other MCP clients. The 3D Agent is the chat path: idea, photo, or sketch, then the same downstream tools.
What the credits actually buy
Credits are the meter. Free users get 100 a month, reset at 00:00 UTC on the first. Pro’s FAQ row is 1,000 credits, 60% faster generation, API access, and private assets. Check the live pricing table before you budget a batch; promotions change the yearly number.
The honest limit is the same as every other generative 3D tool. Precise dimensions, production topology, and a real character rig still go to Blender, Maya, or CAD. Meshy is the first mesh and the first texture, not the last.
